Best Way To Organize Toys In Small Space – I ended up organizing the kids’ playroom all summer. To be honest, my kids don’t play with half of their toys, but I know that if I try to give one away, my daughter will insist on keeping it. I am by no means a professional organizer, but I have outlined some simple steps you can take in your own home.

Take everything out of closets, cabinets, or wherever you store toys. In our house, it is mainly a play room. We store 90% toys here. I put everything away and cleaned the cupboards.

Next, divide the toys into three categories: clean up, donate or keep. I went through each image and sorted them into different piles. When I was done, I put all the recycled items in garbage bags and boxed them up to bring to our local Goodwill.

Now, this step may seem overwhelming. However, once everything is in your keep pile, start sorting the items into different categories; Toys, blocks, puzzles, stuffed animals, Legos, etc.

Once you’ve figured out what you’re dealing with, it’s time to decide how you want to store the toys.

The best storage solution for children’s toys are labeled bins. You don’t have to mark every single bin, but I think it’s a good idea to mark long figures. Consider lidded baskets for small toys like dolls or accessories for Barbie dolls.

I found our baskets at Target and Ikea. I used frosted containers with lids for small toys and large wire containers for toys for older children.

Now that you have all your boxes, place your toys in their respective boxes and label them as needed.
